FOOTBALL CONTESTS?

Maybe this has been answered already, but will there be football contests this year? College, super contest, and totals contest?

I know with all the stuff that went on this year it might be doubtful but I wanted to start planning what I was going to do for the year being that its almost August.

Those contests are so fun so hopefully we can get them back!

It hasn't been answered, but my hope is that it will be business as usual. TBH, the only thing worth a flip on this site at this point.

I love the football contests and I know the BS that went down was unfortunate. My thought would be if someone wanted to set up the contests maybe a site like league safe would be good for the funding security. Im in a survivor pool that uses that and only league safe releases it immediately after the contest ends. I don't run it but could look into it.....

OR if anyone knows where to get into one feel free to share the info . . . whats that place people always called "across the street" there's so many forums I never knew what one they were talking about. (sorry if that talk is frowned upon)

I have had a NFL Pickem pool online for over 20 years on Office football pool.
The last 3 years we have switched to a Pickem with confidence numbers to avoid all the ties every week.
We pay weekly and overall winner.
. We also have a pickem for the CFB bowl games that usually gets 25+ players and we pay out 1,2,3.
March Madness we had over 38 players and ECC was the big winner.
This year I would also like to start a CFB pool. 6 games against the spread similar to what Rx had last year.
We would need at least 10 players for that.
I will be posting the links in a couple of weeks.
As I said before these are not for profit pools. These are football pools that were
started by my family 40 years ago in Chicago.

I do another pool I get in . They have a few various ones. They do a nfl survivor for 100 usually 3k people plus in it, currently 618 signed up,

They do a pick 6 pool where you need to go 6-0 ATS or pool carries over.

They do a weekly squares pool for the entire season for the Thursday, Sunday and Monday night games individually.

1st time doing a variation of fantasy football survivor.

They also do various other pools thru the season. Currently doing baseball survivor and baseball 13 run pool. They do a March Madness square pool, they do NFL Squares for Thanksgiving Day Games, they do a playoff survivor, playoff squares.

Never had a payment issue with them so far.

What is the BS referenced above? Did people get paid last year for the pick 5 nfl contest? It really is the only super good thing about this site, so I hope it continues this year unless I don't know something. I was not in the money last year. Let's keep talking about this as time is of the essence. They used to get this contest up in early July!

I am not a big survivor guy.

I am not sure if we will do it again, but Possum runs a good one over at another site too and I help run it. I am sure we will be in touch more on that coming up and we can let you know on that.

It is like the super contest NFL with 5 picks using their contest lines each week run on a third party site. I usually hold the money.


For why they may not do it, there was an issue with payouts but it was a CRAZY circumstance you could not dream up. The guy holding the money made it right and everyone was paid. Everyone was skeptical but he help up to his end and came tthough like a champ!


All in all, lets try to get some tacttion here with all of our comments to JOH and the crew back running these here!

I planned on getting a CFB pick 6 going. I was going to see if there was one here first.
I didn't want to poach players from here. Then once it was decided I will send the invite
and link out through the OFP site I have always used.

I haven't heard from @JOH or seen him around the RX in a very long time probably since the end of last years Pick 5 NFL, NFL Totals and NCAA Pick 6 contests. Hope he's doing well. I'm keeping my eye open for what pops up... if anyone has any big ones (payouts ?) similar to the contests run here please PM me if youre not posting up in here

I messaged JOH the other day, but haven't received a response. His contests are a top priority for me every year. I'm hoping that he does them again this year, but if not I'd like to get into something similar.

I've touched base with LTFL and he has agreed to take in the funds once again so we are a go. We will be running the NFL and CFB Contests only this year. The NFL Totals just didn't catch on as we'd hoped so other than the fact the CFB Entry Fee is being bumped up a bit, everything else is pretty much status quo.

I'm in the process of setting up a signup sheet and will have that posted ASAP.
